The qinling panda is the first recognized subspecies of the giant panda. The only difference of the giant panda and the qinling panda, is that the qinling panda is dark brown and white instead of what the giant panda is, which is black and white. There are an estimated 200–300 Qinling pandas that are currently living in the wild. The subspecies is only native to the Qinling Mountains, which is where it got its name from. The qinling panda's coloration could possibly be from inbreeding, as they are closed off to the Qinling Mountains, as this is the most likely chance as to why they are colored dark brown and white.
